The Asiva Correct+Apply Color plug-in for Adobe Photoshop has 2 distinct filters from which you can choose:
Correct Color is similar to Photoshop's Replace Color, but with some very fundamental differences. Asiva's Correct Color algorithm take into consideration a pixel's original Hue, Saturation and Luminance values before replacing-in the new color. You can then further adjust the saturation and intensity of the target color. Very natural looking results are easily attainable via proper curve settings and plug-in settings. This filter has been utilized by national catalog companies to show different color options of their products, without having to reshoot each time.
Apply Color is a very easy way to paint any user-defined color into any part of the image based on pixels' Hue, Saturation and Luminance values. It operates almost like a magic paintbrush. This filter is particularly useful when a simple paint operation cannot produce natural-looking results. Common applications of Apply Color include: applying 'digital make-up' for portraits, colorizing black and white images, and false color imaging.
Both filters operate the same way insofar as defining the source color(s) you wish to Correct or Apply Color to: Use Asiva's built-in Hue, Saturation and Intensity Maps to draw curves defining the source color(s). Sampling the colors in the area of the image you wish to affect with the built in Color Sampler Tool is a quick way of selecting these values. Adjusting the curves in the maps allows you to refine certain Hue or Saturation or Intensity values selected. he slope of the curves will define how the filter is transitioned. A near vertical line on your Map will create defined boundaries between where the filter is applied and is not, and a gently sloped curve on the Map will make the boundaries smooth. Asiva's curves are so precise that tedious masking prior to application of the filters is often not necessary.
